Second stage of the SAAB SALOMON AVALANCHE TROPHYwill take place on June 13th and 14th into the Vallonrd resorts located in ANDORRA.
Just to remind you what's the Descent Marathon; it is a pure MTB condensed demanding strengh, endurance and dexterity but also recklessness and trajectories skills.
The 400 down hill marathon racers will rush down from Pic Cubil at 2350 m during about half an hour; to reach the little pretty village of la Massana. The finish is really fun you will pass into a tunnel ... don't forget to bend one's head.

Bikeradar Live

Rob Wilmott takes on the mighty Graham Obree

"Take a look at my moment of (short-lived) glory!

That was Saturday's afternoon session when it was kinda windy. I didn't take part in Sunday morning's hour session when the wind wasn't quite so strong, so that's my excuse. That and being on a standard road bike with no tri bars over a 2.5 mile lap. Oh, and the lack of speed... Couldn't ride on Sunday as I took part in the WattBike Challenge (1450 watts peak, 10.35 secs for 200m), then raced for over 2 hrs with Stephen Roche, which was a lot of fun. My legs still hurt :o)

This is the final result of the Hot Laps - I think I was good for 4th really!

Obree was a star though, and thoroughly great bloke!
