The weekend started with all day workshops in dance and percussion led by instructors form London School of Samba. The dancers kept up their energy by munching in Mulebar during the break. Thank you Mulebar!
Hundreds of people lined the route on Sunday 3rd May as 300 performers including stunning dancers in high heels and colourful headdresses, gyrating to the music of samba bands together with the Cornwall Youth Jazz Orchestra, provided a dazzling display
This event, organised by Truro School of Samba, culminated with performances by all participating groups on Lemon Quay during the afternoon. Although primarily a samba event, the organisers were keen to show some 'home grown' Cornish culture as well, Hevva and kekezza put on a great show with traditional dance and music. There was a good crowd throughout the five-hour show, whose enthusiasm matched that of the performers.(Emma Skilton - Dance Director)
