Mule Steve 3rd at Dusk til Dawn on a singlespeed!

"The first lap was frantic - the lead-out down the fire trails behind a quad was fast with a fair bit of jostling to get a good position before the start of the classic Thetford singletrack. It rained pretty much rained constantly between the start at 8pm and about 3am. I am not sure how many people retired, but there certainly appeared to be a lot fewer people out on course after 3-4 laps. lap time dropped from a 45-minute first lap down to a 1hr-45min last lap as the conditions gradually worsened.
I destroyed a set of brake pads in the first 3 laps, but decided there was no point in putting any new ones in - they wouldn't have lasted, and with Thetford being pretty flat, combined with the mud, there were only about 2-3 places where brakes were needed. I plugged on and managed to wear away about 1/2 the backing plates too!

While I was on the podium collecting my prize, Rory Hutchins from USE/Exposure made the comment that no matter where he goes he knows there will always be someone in Mule Bar kit! Long may it continue..."
