This little beauty saved my afternoon!

Hi Matt, At the top of Kaprun and on a hike to the peak, which I decided against due to snow conditions, this little beauty saved my afternoon!

I sure hope so cos fo sure I'm gonna send you a verse

Mule BARS, Absolute cars,

I could eat one standing in my bras,

Say mule bars, woo lala, mule bars,

Tasty, squidgy and gooey and covered in Mule bars!

Cheers then lads, hope to hear from you sometime soon, gotta love you guys and all your tom-mulery.

Catch ya later,

Regina Joynered

RAF Northern Exposure

Wing Commander Matt Stowers and Squadron Leader Jules Weekes will set off for their epic Adventure next Wednesday.

"The expedition will take Matt and Jules from the Northern Canada out onto the vast frozen sea-ice of the Arctic Ocean. We will then cross over 478 miles in one of the harshest environments on earth.
The expedition will be undertaken following the purest rules of extreme adventure and will see the team start the expedition by stepping off land onto the frozen Arctic Ocean. We will then ski, walk, swim and paddle our way to the pole without any external assistance simply so that we can say that the expedition was unsupported."

Read more on their blog and website.

Good luck guys!

My Luve is like a Red Red Rose (1794)

HAPPY BURNS NIGHT TO ALL

O my Luve's like a red, red rose,
That's newly sprung in June:
O my Luve's like the melodie,
That's sweetly play'd in tune.
As fair art thou, my bonie lass,
So deep in luve am I;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a' the seas gang dry.
Till a' the seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi' the sun;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
While the sands o' life shall run.
And fare-thee-weel, my only Luve!
And fare-thee-weel, a while!
And I will come again, my Luve,
Tho' 'twere ten thousand mile!

True inspirational mules....

Out of the six riders who started the gruelling challenge, three finished and live to tell the tales! Stories of riding the Breacon Beacons by night in the pouring rain and howling winds, dislocated shoulders, popped ACL's and fun times chasing goats through fields butt naked in a bid to boost morale! Scotland held some of the best scenery and riding I have ever experienced in the UK and was for sure the silver lining of our trip – but I would love to ride it ALL again!The ride was shadowed by the passing of my father who died peacefully in his sleep on September 15th from prostate cancer. We were less than half way through the ride at the time, but his death drove me to completion as my father always encouraged me to not be disheartened and ultimately to succeed. Since then, the healing process has been difficult and I continue to learn how to cope on a daily basis. Part of the reason this email comes so late is because Backpedal has been put on the back burner through my grieving.Today, our current total raised for The Prostate Cancer Charity stands at £10,211.03 and is increasing all the time! The Backpedal team is really proud of this achievement and is excited for the next big challenge. A plan is being hatched for this summer that will build on what has been before! This project is currently in its infancy but we will do our best to keep you updated as things progress. We hope that this challenge will see us hit the £20,000 we have promised The Prostate Cancer Charity.As a team, we have been happy to boast of our sponsorship by Mule Bar. We love the fact your product is fairly traded, made of natural products, tastes great and the best thing is, they really work! On a day of awful weather and hard climbs, 'Mule Bar O'clock' was something we all looked forward to! I must admit I did sneak a few 'Cookies and Cream flavoured Powerbars' (mmmm!) onto the trip but they always resulted in a massive comedown after the initial sugar rush! Guess I got what was deserved...
I hope that you.... can be encouraged through this and I wish you all the best for the year ahead. Keep doing what you do, you're awesome!

Regards,
Matt Legg-Bagg and the Backpedal Team
